What Opinly Does
Opinly gives you three things in one place:
Competitive intelligence — track your competitors' web presence, see how their rankings change over time, and understand where they're winning and losing in search.
SEO analysis — monitor your own keyword rankings, find gaps you're missing, audit your site's technical health, and track your backlink profile.
AI content — generate SEO-optimised blog posts targeted at keywords your potential customers are searching for, and publish them directly to your website.
These three parts work together. Your competitor data informs what keywords to target. Your keyword research shapes what content to create. Your content drives the rankings you track.
Your Dashboard
When you first arrive, your dashboard shows an overview of your SEO performance. As your data builds up over time, this becomes your main health check — organic traffic trends, keyword ranking movement, domain authority, backlinks, and site audit score, all in one view.
On the right-hand side you'll see your top-ranking keywords and any keywords that have recently entered search results — these are worth keeping an eye on as early signals of what's gaining traction.
The sidebar on the left is how you navigate the platform:
Overview — the main dashboard home you're on now
Keywords — research new keywords, track your rankings, and analyse competitor gaps
Site Audit — a health score for your website with a breakdown of technical SEO issues to fix
Backlinks — your backlink profile and incoming links from other sites
Blog Content — your AI content system for generating and publishing blog posts
Competitors — manage your competitor list and review their data
Settings — billing, content settings, integrations, and account management
Setting Up Blog Content
Blog Content is the part of Opinly that generates and publishes posts for you. Before it can do anything, you need to connect it to your website.
When you visit Blog Content for the first time, you'll be walked through a short setup:
Step 1 — Choose your integration This is where you tell Opinly where to publish your content. The options are:
WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow — Opinly connects directly to your platform and publishes posts automatically
Next.js — for custom-built sites; requires a developer to add the Opinly SDK
Manual — Opinly generates the content and you copy and paste it wherever you need it
If you're not ready to connect your CMS yet, choose Manual. You'll get full access to content generation straight away, with no risk of anything being published somewhere you didn't intend.
Step 2 — Configure your settings You'll set your company description (what your business does and who it's for), your target locations, and how often you want content generated. You can come back and change any of these later in Settings → Content.
One important setting: Auto-Publish This controls whether posts go live automatically or wait for your approval. It is off by default — meaning nothing will ever publish to your site without you reviewing it first. When auto-publish is off, generated posts sit in a "Scheduled Review" state until you manually approve them.
You can turn auto-publish on at any time once you're comfortable with the quality and flow of content. But you'll never be surprised by something going live without your say-so.
Your Plan and Usage
Your subscription determines how many blog posts Opinly can generate per month:
Personal — 12 posts per month
Business — 16 posts per month
Enterprise — 20 posts per month
You can see exactly how much of your monthly allowance you've used in Settings → Billing. There's a usage bar showing used versus remaining, your next billing date, and your current plan details.
If you need more posts than your plan allows in a given month, you can purchase additional posts individually — each one is available at a flat per-post rate. You can also upgrade your plan at any time from the same page.
What to Do First
The most useful thing you can do right now is set up Blog Content. Getting through the setup unlocks the content system and gives Opinly what it needs to start finding relevant keywords for your business.
From there:
Review your content clusters — these are the topic groups Opinly will draw from when generating posts. You'll see a set of suggested clusters based on your company description. Approve the ones that feel right and remove anything that doesn't fit.
Generate your first post — head to Blog Content and click Generate with AI. Pick a keyword, set a date, and let Opinly write a draft. You don't have to publish it — just see what it produces.
Check your keyword rankings — go to Keywords and browse what you're already ranking for. Look for anything sitting on page 2 that could move up with a well-targeted post.
Everything else builds from there.
